The Venue

the barn

The Goldfish Barn is up to code, handicapped accessible and climate controlled while retaining the property’s rustic charm.

The upstairs barn area has the original wooden beams, walls and floors but also has two handicapped accessible bathrooms, a wheel chair lift between the upstairs and downstairs and can be heated during cold weather.

The downstairs has the beautiful, original stone work, wooden beams and feed troughs turned into bar tops for cocktail hour. Two more handicapped bathrooms, a catering prep area, and a bar area are downstairs for your use. A glass and metal bar covers the original floor troughs where the fish still swim. The downstairs is heated and cooled for your comfort. Walking outside from the downstairs is a 2,400 square foot covered outside area with a concrete patio extending another 2,400 square feet.

Connected to the patio is a bar inside our silo bar with a walk up window.  Off of the patio is a large grass area for outside ceremonies.

the farmhouse

For your wedding weekend there is a four bedroom farmhouse with overnight accommodations.

The one bedroom upstairs is designed for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in, complete with two hair stations and several mirrors.  The groomsmen also have their own climate controlled space in our restored summer kitchen with a full bathroom in the adjacent smokehouse.

history of the barn

Originally a working barn, the property was bought by Richard and Suzanne Rice in 1975 to use as a gift shop for their goldfish and Koi farm, Mt Parnell Fisheries.

Many people have fond memories of going to The Goldfish Barn and buying their fish supplies, goldfish, and other unique gifts. One thing people usually remember, is buying their goldfish out of the open troughs in the floor. In December 2017 Keith and Suzanne Johnson bought the property with the intensions of turning the barn into an event center while keeping the history of this amazing barn alive.

The Goldfish Barn Event Center opened in August 2018, up to code and handicapped accessible.

There are many outside photo opportunities with our bridge, gazebo, koi fountain, huge trees, old rustic buildings, and swings, plus all the beauty of the surrounding fields and mountains.
